Or should that read "inaction?" A Berlin, Germany-based college is conducting extensive research on cracks in the sidewalk and actually expects the project to be taken seriously. Here in North Carolina, where this blog lives and blogs, both the state House and Senate voted to tax soft drinks--which have "drink" right in their NAME, for the love of Mike--as non-food items, which subjects all sodas to a seven-cent sales tax as opposed to the former two cent food and beverage tax. The "Mike" this blog mentioned earlier was Gov. Mike Easley, and this blog isn't feeling much love for him right now.
