"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

    THIS BLOG SUSPECTS POLICE K-9S

Russian police allege foul play in the death of a trained "sniffer cat" used to detect the presence of--this blog is not making this up--illegal caviar. The cat, named Rusik, a former stray who was trained to foil caviar smugglers, was run over in what police say was an "organized hit." Even in such a tragic time, this blog cannot help thinking that "Sniffer Cat" would make a good name for a rock band. Also "Illegal Caviar."
