"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

    SONG LYRIC OF THE DAY

Today's honoree is none other than cult sensation Our Lady Peace, which wrote these lines in a fit of sheer uninteligibility:
"White teeth, a ticket to meet God/And be all that you envy/The shotgun under your bed has/ Started breathing/You shot it, you shot it/And I'm bare, I'm bare."
These are actual lyrics from OLP's "Is Anybody Home?" a song that was clearly influenced by hallucinogenic drugs. Such songwriting has a long and proud musical tradition. Does "I am the eggman/Coo coo cachoo," ring any bells?
