"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

    SOUND ADVICE

After filling out 13 job applications, it is difficult for anyone--even this blog--to resist the urge to respond to some of the application questions with subtle sarcasm. For example, even if you are in a prankish mood, this blog does not recommend that, when asked to give your reason for leaving a previous job, you write "boss was a total Nazi." For some reason, that response doesn't work in your favor. At least not in this blog's experience, anyway.
