"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

    SONG LYRIC OF THE DAY

Top honors go to British rockers Coldplay, who write "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war," in the title track from their debut album, A Rush of Blood to the Head.

Also receiving votes were alt-rock faves Weezer, who shriek " See, smells so good on a burnt piece of lamb," in the song "Dope Nose." Which is worse, Coldplay's insincere, capricious aggression or Weezer's nonsensical gastronomical allusion? Lyrically, both have the emotional depth of boiled cabbage, which would make a good half of a couplet in a Weezer song.
