"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

    BLIX BULLIES BUSH

United Nations Chief Weapons Inspector Hans Blix (UNCWEHB, for short,) announced last week that he will abandon his post at the end of this month. Or maybe that was White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer. But Blix is packing, apparently indignant over the U.S. rush to war with Iraq that halted UN weapons inspections.

In a rare outburst, Blix excoriated President Bush and called him "a bastard," prompting a bilious backlash from the American press and a round of applause from the rest of the world.

This blog is not particularly offended, because it knows that criticisms made by any man named "Hans" should be taken with a grain of salt. Better make that the salted rim of this blog's double margarita.
