"God only knows what is to happen. I see nothing impossible in that supposition. And I see things wonderfully contrived sometimes to make us happy. Where could they find such objects as in America for the exercise of their enchanting art? Especially the lady, who paints landscapes so inimirably. She wants only subjects worthy of immortality to render her pencil immortal. " --Thomas Jefferson, A Dialogue Between The Head and The Heart

BITING THE HAND THAT HOSTS YOU

This blog became livid when it spotted the Blog Spot banner adverisement above and read the words, "The occupation is killing us all. Action options to end the conflict," preceded by a link designated as "Israel and Palestine," and followed by a Web address for New Internationalist, a liberal, pacifistic organization that purportedly seeks an peaceful Mideast solution, but does this while spewing bile at Israel for having the gall to react militarily to terrorist attacks within its borders.

No, this blog will not link to this site, because IT DOES NOT WANT YOU TO GO THERE AND ALLOW THIS ADVERTISER TO PROFIT FROM WEB TRAFFIC SOLICITED FROM A BLOG THAT VEHEMENTLY DISAGREES WITH IT! Yes, this is a matter so severe that this blog must resort to the indiscriminate use of capital letters.

Now, since this blog pays nothing for blogging services, it will put up with a cheeky banner ad for Pepsi or Chevrolet or Google or Map Quest or even The Weather Channel. But to burden this blog--which has always been an anti-terrorism kind of blog--with an ad for a controversial organization which condones Palestinian terrorism and condemns Israeli retaliatory strikes is unethical and unconscionable.

What if a liberal feminist-maintained blog were forced to advertise for the Pro-Life Action League? A Holocaust survivor's blog linked to the Aryan Nation Web site? When commerce drowns conscience, such slights will continue.

Let's see how BlogSpot (or B.S., for short) likes it if this blog advertises for B.S. competitors. Build your blog on BlogEasy.com
